The People Strugle Monument (MONPERA)


As it is called, the monument is to symbolized the braveness of Balikpapan people in strugling for Indonesia independency. With very limited weapon and war trainning, The peoples are very brave standing against both European and Japanese occupancy during World War II.

The monument is set surrounded by a nice garden and overlook to white sandy beach. It also has a little museum with some dioramas located at the underground. At the back yard an open stage is located. During the special occasion the stage is used to held traditional show performance or other art show performance.
